Our Vision

ArtSafe is dedicated to changing the lives of troubled kids through the arts. ArtSafe targets "at risk" kids in their schools, neighborhoods, juvenile and adult prisons. We help young people heal from the effects of violence, discover their skills, talents and give them the tools to learn how to deal with anger, avoid getting into trouble and create meaningful lives.

February 1, 2012

As the new year has come we have started another great year.  This year our programming has again taken us into Starling Middle School, to offer them for a second year our Breaking The Non Academic Barriers Program.

We are also proud to announce that St. Vincents Family Center has allowed us to come into their residential area and offer them a great art program.

Continue to look for great things from us in the future.

ArtSafe's first Art in the Park

with Junior League of Columbus

Art Safe's first Arts in the Park event held Saturday, August 27 at Weiland Park was another combination of forces. Thanks to funding from The Junior League of Columbus we were able to offer a morning of a clown, face-painting, creating peace puppets, hip hop dance lessons, skits and talks on safety and preventing violence. For attending talks and activities, school-aged participants received a backpack and school supplies courtesy of The Junior League. A big "Thanks" to The Family Violence Coalition and City Council Member Michelle M. Mills for their help in providing the messages our young people need to hear.

As part of the event, adults and children transformed two fence sections into art. The fences will grace the Weiland Park's neighborhood 4th St. Garden.
